Searching Toyota Sienna 2027 vs 2026? Start with the plain fact: Toyota has not announced a 2027 Sienna. There is no 2027 press release, no 2027 price list and no 2027 model on toyota.com, which still sells the 2026 hybrid minivan from $41,320. What exists for 2027 is a set of industry reports, and the most recent one points to a meaningful mid-cycle update.

Below, every 2026 figure comes from Toyota, and every 2027 item is labeled with who reported it. The aim is to help a family decide whether to buy the 2026 now or hold out.

Is There a 2027 Sienna? What We Know

Officially, not yet. The Grand Highlander, Tundra and Sequoia already have official 2027 specs; the Sienna has none. Here is what has surfaced elsewhere, newest first:

• November 3, 2026, Motor Illustrated: screenshots of a Canadian dealer document describe the 2027 Sienna as a "mid-model change." Listed items include a new-generation hybrid system, Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, standard 12.3-inch center and instrument displays, a 5G data module, a camera washer and a new Storm Cloud paint, along with grade changes for Canada. Toyota Canada has not confirmed any of it, and the outlet calls the document unverified (source).
• January 2026, Edmunds: expected "no major changes" for 2027, a starting price around $42,000 and a late-2026 release (source). That estimate predates both the newer dealer report and Toyota's mid-year 2026 price increase.

Our read: the current Sienna arrived for 2021, so a mid-cycle refresh would fit the calendar. Until Toyota confirms it, treat every 2027 detail as a possibility, not a promise.

Hybrid Powertrain & MPG

Every 2026 Sienna is a hybrid. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder works with electric motors for 245 total system horsepower, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive on most grades and AWD standard on the Woodland Edition. Toyota rates it at up to 36 mpg combined with front drive and 35 with AWD, which on a Brooklyn school-and-errands loop means noticeably fewer fill-ups than a gas-only three-row.

For 2027, the Canadian dealer document lists a new-generation hybrid system. No output, fuel-economy or towing numbers have been reported, and Toyota has said nothing, so the 245 hp and 36 mpg figures are the only confirmed ones today.

Trims & Woodland Edition

The 2026 lineup runs through six grades, all priced on toyota.com as of November 4, 2026:

• LE, $41,320: up to eight seats, an 8-inch screen and, new for 2026, eight speakers, rear window shades and a power liftgate.
• XLE, $46,020: the 12.3-inch screen, roof rails and seven or eight seats.
• XSE, $49,245: sport styling and, for 2026, standard 12-speaker JBL audio; seven seats.
• Limited, $52,005 and Platinum, $58,710: the comfort-focused grades at the top of the range.
• Woodland Edition, $52,100: the outdoorsy Sienna, with standard AWD, seven seats and a hitch rated to tow 3,500 lb.

For 2027, Toyota has not published a U.S. grade list. The Canadian document mentions grade changes for that market only, so it says little about what U.S. buyers will see.

Seating & Cargo

Depending on grade, the 2026 Sienna seats seven with second-row captain's chairs or eight with a bench. Legroom is generous in every row: 40.3, 39.9 and 38.7 inches front to back, per toyota.com. The third row splits 60/40 and folds into the floor.

Cargo space measures about 34 cubic feet behind the third row, 75 behind the second and 101 behind the first, according to Cars.com. No industry report suggests the body or cabin dimensions change for 2027.

2026 vs 2027 Prices

Toyota opened 2026 pricing in October 2025 with the LE at $40,120. Today toyota.com lists it at $41,320, so the 2026 already absorbed a $1,200 increase. 2027 prices are not announced; Edmunds' earlier $42,000 estimate is now only slightly above today's 2026 LE.

Buy a 2026 Now or Wait for a 2027?

If your family needs a minivan this season, the 2026 is the safer bet: proven, on the lot and priced, while the 2027 remains unconfirmed.

Buy a 2026 Sienna now if:

• The van is needed soon and you'd like this month's Toyota offers on a model you can drive today.
• Two years or 25,000 miles of ToyotaCare matters to you. The 2027 Toyotas revealed so far, the Grand Highlander and Sequoia among them, cut that to 1 year or 10,000 miles.
• The 2026's equipment already covers your list.

Wait for a 2027 if:

• Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, a 12.3-inch screen on the base grade or a new hybrid system would change your decision, and you can wait for Toyota to confirm them.
• You are flexible on timing and want to compare 2027 pricing first.
